How do I connect to dApps and web3 apps in Exodus Mobile?

In Exodus Mobile, you can connect to dApps and web3 apps with the web3 browser or WalletConnect from the Web3 tile on the profile screen.

In this article, you can learn how to connect to dApps and web3 apps with the web3 browser in Exodus Mobile.

WalletConnect in Exodus Mobile lets you connect to web3 apps by scanning a QR code, copying and pasting a link, or with mobile linking. Once connected, you can approve and sign transactions with your mobile wallet.

Web3 browser

In the web3 browser, you can browse and connect to web3 apps from the Explore tab. Once you are connected, you can approve and sign transactions with Exodus Mobile.

When you connect to web3 apps with the web3 browser, you sign requests and approve transactions from Exodus Mobile.

With the web3 browser, you can explore web3, browse and bid on NFTs, participate in DeFi, and more.

Which networks are supported?

Different web3 apps support different networks. With the Web3 browser, you can browse and connect to web3 apps on any of the following networks:

  • Ethereum

  • Algorand

  • Arbitrum Nova

  • Arbitrum One

  • Avalanche C-Chain

  • BNB Smart Chain

  • Cardano

  • Fantom

  • Optimism

  • Polygon

  • Solana


How do I connect to web3 apps with the Web3 browser?

Algorand Governance, Raydium, and GMX are third-party platforms that are not affiliated with Exodus. As such, Exodus cannot guarantee the performance of its products/services or that the steps shown and the information provided will always be accurate.

  1. In Exodus Mobile, a) tap the Profile icon, then b) tap Web3.

  2. a) Tap Explore. From here, b) you can browse through a short list of curated web3 apps, c) search through the full list with the search bar, or d) filter by network with the network filter.

    Tap on the web3 app you wish to connect to.

  3. If the web3 app you want to connect to is not on the curated list, a) enter its name in the search bar, then b) tap to search for it on Google.


    Google will open in a browser and show the results. If you see the website of the web3 app, tap on it.

    You can only connect to web3 apps on supported networks.


  4. When you have opened the Web3 app, look for the connection button, usually labeled Connect Wallet, Connect to a Wallet, or Connect.

    Tap the connection button, and Exodus will automatically connect to the web3 app.

    If you are asked to select a connection method, select Exodus. If Exodus isn't available, tap Browser Wallet, MetaMask (Ethereum and EVM connections), or Phantom (Solana connections).

  5. Some web3 apps require a signature to prove you own the wallet you are connecting. This will not incur a network fee. If you receive a signature request, a) review the details, then b) tap Approve.

  6. If the web3 app supports multiple networks, you can switch networks within its interface.

How do I disconnect from web3 apps?

This guide shows how to disconnect from dApps and web3 apps you are connected to.

  1. In Exodus Mobile, a) tap the Profile icon, then b) tap Web3.

  2. a) Tap Tabs. Here you can see all the web3 apps you are connected to with the web3 browser. To disconnect from a specific web3 app, b) tap on the X next to the web3 app. To disconnect from all web3 apps, c) tap Clear All.


How do I approve a request?

When you interact with a dApp or web3 app from the Web3 browser, all transactions and requests must be approved from Exodus Mobile. To approve a request, follow the steps below:

  1. When you need to approve a request, you'll receive a prompt where you can see details like the network (chain), fees, and assets.

  2. To approve the request, move the slider to the right.


How do I see my Web3 browser transaction history?

Transactions made with the Web3 browser will show as normal send or receive transactions and can be viewed along with all other transactions.

For example, if you want to see your Ethereum Web3 browser transactions, navigate to your Ethereum wallet and scroll down to view your transaction history.


How do I add a web3 app to my favorites?

You can keep track of web3 apps in the web3 browser by marking them as favorites. When you mark a web3 app as a favorite, it will appear in your Favorites tab.

It is only possible to favorite curated web3 apps.

  1. In Exodus Mobile, a) tap the Profile icon, then b) tap Web3.

  2. a) Tap Explore, then b) tap the web3 app you want to add to your favorites.

  3. Tap the star in the top right corner to add the web3 app to your favorites. If you wish to remove a web3 app from your favorites, tap the star again so it's not highlighted.

  4. a) Tap on your Favorites tab to b) view all web3 apps marked as favorites.


How can I stay safer when connecting to web3 apps?

Only connect to dApps and web3 apps you trust. DApps and web3 apps are third-party platforms that are not affiliated with Exodus. Exodus can't vouch for the safety or security of any third party.

Before connecting to a web3 app, do your own research, so you understand its features and the potential risks of interacting with it.

Why am I seeing an update warning?

To use the Web3 browser in Exodus Mobile, it's necessary to keep your phone's operating system updated.

If you visit a dApp or web3 app while using an outdated operating system, you'll receive a warning. To continue browsing securely, you can update your device.

Android

On Android, open Settings and tap System, then tap System Update. Once updated, return to Exodus Mobile to continue browsing securely.


iOS

On iOS, open Settings and tap General, then tap Software Update. Once updated, return to Exodus Mobile to continue browsing securely.
