MoonPay teams with Unstoppable Domains for Web3 payments

Unstoppable Domains, the largest provider of second-level blockchain domains, is teaming up with MoonPay to make Web3 transactions even easier, using NFT domains.

No more long addresses

Users of the MoonPay crypto payment service are now able to send and receive digital assets without having to enter a long string of letters and numbers, instead using their Unstoppable Domain identity. Instead of typing a wallet address like:

all it takes is:

Unstoppable Domains provides users with easy-to-remember domain names that are registered as NFTs on the Ethereum blockchain and are owned for life. Available for a variety of domains, including .crypto, .coin, .nft and .wallet, they can be used as a universal username across multiple Web3 applications, website URL and payment address for crypto wallets.

Sandy Carter, an executive at Unstoppable Domains, commented that this partnership will make Web3 more intuitive, both for beginners and experts.

Demand for Ethereum Name Service domains continues to be strong in spite of the current bear market, with registrations rising 200% in July. Among these was the sale of “000.eth” for ETH 300, about $317,000 at the time.

Unstoppable Domains supports all common Web3 browsers, including Brave, Opera, Chrome, Firefox and Edge.

MoonPay’s popularity is surging

MoonPay is quickly becoming one of the most popular options for purchasing cryptocurrencies quickly and simply. Available in over 160 countries, MoonPay offers nearly 100 cryptocurrencies, from Aave to Zilliqa. About 40 of these are available to US citizens.

The company was launched in 2019 with the goal of increasing worldwide cryptocurrency adoption through a simple and secure software solution. Now worth more than $3.4 billion, a $555 million Series A financing round last November attracted $87 million from dozens of public figures and celebrities, including Steve Aoki, Justin Bieber, Drake, Paris Hilton, Ashton Kutcher, Matthew McConaughey, Gwyneth Paltrow, Snoop Dogg and Bruce Willis.

In December, MoonPay announced a partnership with FaZe Clan, a professional esports and entertainment organization headquartered in Los Angeles. As their official crypto and NFT partner, MoonPay will integrate into existing content across the FaZe Clan platform, with new original content customized for the FaZe Clan community.

Justin Hamilton, MoonPay’s head of communications, said that the company is "Laser-focused on helping foster a healthy ecosystem of partners with reliable payment infrastructure," encouraging content creators to own their Web3 IP address and have “greater control of their creative output and financial support."
