What is Electrum?

Electrum is a third-party platform that is not affiliated with Exodus. As such, Exodus cannot guarantee the performance of its products/services or that the steps shown and the information provided will always be accurate.

Electrum is an open-source Bitcoin wallet with many features that allow you to get the most out of your Bitcoin.

Electrum is available for Windows, macOS, Linux, and Android operating systems. You can download installation files as well as the source code from the link below:

If you would like to import your Exodus Bitcoin wallet into Electrum, you will need your Exodus 12-word secret recovery phrase. Before you start, make sure your Exodus wallet is closed.

Electrum does not support Taproot addresses. If you have funds on your Taproot address in Exodus, then you will not be able to access those funds with Electrum.

How do I set up Electrum?

Electrum on mobile (Android Only)

The Electrum mobile app is only available on Android. If you use an iOS device, then you can download Electrum on a trusted desktop device and follow the steps in the Desktop guide.

  1. Open the Electrum app and tap Next.

  2. a) Give your wallet a name, then b) tap Next.

  3. a) Select Standard Wallet, then b) tap Next.

  4. a) Select I already have a seed, then b) tap Next.

  7. a) Create a password for your wallet, b) enter your password again to confirm, then c) tap Finish.
