How do I reset my password?

Reset and change your password in Exodus. If you want to reset your password, you will need to unlock Exodus with your current password.

How do I reset my password?

If you want to reset your password because you feel your old password and email have been compromised, you will need to create a new wallet.

If you forgot your password, you can restore from your 12-word secret recovery phrase to access your wallet.


Mobile

If you want to change your passcode, you need to first unlock your Exodus wallet with your current passcode.

  1. In Exodus Mobile, enter your passcode.

  2. Open the Menu by a) tapping the Profile icon in the lower right corner of your screen, then tap b) Security.

  3. Now, toggle off Secure With Passcode.

  4. Exodus will now ask you to enter your current passcode to Disable Security. Tap Remove Passcode and enter your current passcode.

  5. Once you have removed your current passcode, you can tap on Secure With Passcode again and create your new passcode.

    And that is it! You have now successfully changed your Exodus mobile wallet's passcode.

Desktop

If you want to change your password, you must first unlock your Exodus wallet with your current password.

  1. In Exodus Desktop, enter your password.

  2. Click the Settings icon in the top right-hand corner of your Exodus wallet.

  3. a) Click on the Backup tab, then b) click Reset.

  4. Exodus will confirm you want to reset your password. Click Continue.

  5. For your security Exodus will ask you to type your current password again. a) Enter your password, then b) click Unlock Now.

  6. Your password will now be reset. a) You will be taken to the backup tab to go through the backup process again. This time b) type in a new password and c) click Next.

  7. a) Confirm your new password by typing it in again, then b) click Next.

  8. Now you will see your 12-word secret recovery phrase again. This is a good time to confirm it is correct. Once checked, click Next.

  9. Finally, confirm you have correctly backed up your 12-word secret recovery phase by picking the correct word, then click Finish.

And that's it! You have successfully changed your Exodus wallet's password.

Web3 Wallet

If you want to change your password, you must first unlock your Exodus wallet with your current password.

If you forgot your current password, follow this guide instead: How do I access my wallet if I forget my password?

  1. In your Exodus Web3 Wallet, a) click on the Profile icon, then b) click Security.

  2. Click Password.

  3. To change your password, a) enter your current password, b) enter your new password, and then c) enter the new password again to confirm it. When you are done, d) click Save password.
