When was the Golem network token migration?
In late 2020, Golem underwent an upgrade, migrating to a new smart contract. As part of the upgrade, the Golem team replaced the old Golem (GNT) token with the new Golem (GLM) token while making it possible to swap the old GNT token for the new GLM token at a 1:1 ratio.
Why do I see old Golem (GNT) and new Golem (GLM) in my Exodus wallet?
The Golem team has kept the same name for the new token but changed the ticker from GNT to GLM.
So you'll see two wallets in Exodus that will hold the old and new Golem:
Golem (old) (GNT) - old token
Golem (GLM) - new token
How do I swap from the old Golem (GNT) to the new Golem (GLM) token?
Follow these steps to swap your old Golem (GNT) to the new Golem (GLM) token:
Mobile
In Exodus Mobile, open your old Golem (GNT) wallet and tap on the gear icon in the top right corner.
You will now see the Claim Golem screen. To swap to the new GLM token, you will need some ETH to pay network transaction fees. When you are ready, tap Claim.
Do not close Exodus until you see the Success! screen (should not take more than a few minutes).
That's it! Once the swap is complete, you can see your new Golem tokens in your Golem (GLM) wallet.
Desktop
In Exodus Desktop, open your old Golem (GNT) wallet.
a) Click the menu in the top right-hand corner and b) click Claim GLM.
To swap to the new GLM token, you will need some ETH to pay network transaction fees. When you are ready, click Claim.
Do not close Exodus until you see the Swap Successful! screen (should not take more than a few minutes).
That's it! Once the swap is complete, you can see your new Golem tokens in your Golem (GLM) wallet.
