What domains does Exodus use?

Exodus uses several domains. Each domain serves a specific purpose, like running the wallet, serving the downloads, or connecting to block explorers. Check the domains in this article if you're unsure if it's safe to go to a particular website or accept communication from an email address that looks like it's from Exodus.

Exodus-owned domains

*.exodus.com and support.exodus.com

  • The website for Exodus wallet is used to show information about the wallet along with the Knowledge Base part which hosts a lot of self-help articles to help you with understanding the wallet functionality. As you might know already, * refers to any sub-domains or servers that may be used to provide wallet functionality.

*.a.exodus.io and *.exodus.io

  • Most parts of the Exodus wallet connect to *.a.exodus.io or *.exodus.io domains to be able to provide you with the functionality to run the wallet effortlessly. As you might know already, * refers to any sub-domains or servers that may be used to provide wallet functionality.

  • Exodus uses this to serve wallet downloads from the Exodus Releases page. This is the only official source to download the Exodus Desktop Wallet for Windows, macOS, and Linux computers. We do not recommend downloading Exodus from any 3rd party hosts or websites.

Exodus emails

It's possible to make it look like emails come from @exodus.com or @exodus.io, even if they don't. This is known as spoofing. Please be careful as any email you receive may contain malware or be a phishing attempt.

Exodus will never email you a personal message out of the blue. As a self-custodial wallet, we do not have access to any of your personal information, including your email address.

If you don't email us first, the only email you will get from Exodus is the newsletter (if you've signed up for it).

Otherwise, we will respond to your emails if and only if you email us first.

You can find all the ways to contact us here: How do I contact Exodus Support?

Exodus staff will never ask for sensitive information, including passwords, private keys, or 12-word secret recovery phrases.

Third-party block explorers

These services are used to provide the exchange, exchange pricing, asset price feeds, block explorers, etc. services inside the Exodus wallet.

These servers can change from time to time depending on various reasons.
