Updated over 2 weeks ago

In Exodus Mobile and Desktop, you can enable multiple addresses for certain assets, such as Bitcoin, Litecoin, and other select UTXO-based assets.

This guide covers multiple addresses, how they work, how they can enhance privacy, and how to enable multiple addresses in Exodus Mobile and Desktop.

In this article:

What are multiple addresses?

By default, your Exodus wallet will always use the same address to receive crypto.

However, in Exodus Mobile and Desktop, you can enable multiple addresses for Bitcoin, Litecoin, and other supported UTXO-based assets.

When you enable multiple addresses, your wallet automatically generates a new address for an asset after it receives funds.

Because a new address is generated after every transaction, if you share one address with someone, they can only see the balance and transaction tied to that address. To see your entire transaction history and balance, they would need all your addresses or your xpub.

This reduces the risk of exposing your current balance and transaction history, making it a useful feature to enhance your privacy.

Which assets support multiple addresses?

In Exodus Mobile and Desktop, you can enable multiple addresses for the following UTXO-based assets:

  • Bitcoin (BTC)

  • Bitcoin Cash (BCH)

  • Bitcoin SV (BSV)

  • Dash (DASH)

  • Digibyte (DGB)

  • Dogecoin (DOGE)
