How do I restore from an email backup link?

If you had an Exodus wallet before February 2019, you might have received a recovery link by email. You can restore your wallet using it.

Updated over 2 weeks ago

If you created your Exodus wallet before February 2019, you might have backed it up with an email backup link.

As of Exodus version 19.2.1 (February 2019), it's no longer possible to back up your wallet with new email backup links. However, you can still restore your wallet with an email backup link if you previously created one.

To restore your wallet with the email backup link, you need:

  1. The recovery link you received by email when you first created the email backup link.

Please note that Exodus cannot resend the email recovery link.

  2. The same password your Exodus wallet used when you created the email backup link.

You cannot restore your wallet with the email backup link if you forget the Exodus password you used when you created it.

You can always restore your wallet if you have your 12-word secret recovery phrase. For information on all recovery options, visit: What happens if I lose access to my wallet?
