The Web3 browser in Exodus Mobile allows you to browse and connect with dApps and Web3 apps from inside your mobile wallet.
When accessing and connecting to Web3 apps with the Web3 browser, your Exodus mobile wallet is used to approve transactions.
When you're connected, you can explore the wonderful world of Web3. Browse and bid on NFTs, participate in DeFi, and much more.
What are dApps and Web3 apps?
The word dApp is an abbreviation of decentralized application. DApps are apps that you interact with by using blockchain technology. There are many different kinds of dApps, from games to DeFi to NFT platforms.
A Web3 app is any application built on a blockchain. There are also many different kinds of Web3 apps.
All dApps are Web3 apps, but not all Web3 apps are dApps, because not all Web3 apps are decentralized. However, you'll often find the terms used interchangeably.

You have two options to find a Web3 app to connect to with the Web3 browser.
You can a) browse through a short list of curated Web3 apps or b) search through the full list of curated Web3 apps with the search bar.
If you don't find the Web3 app you're looking for, you won't be able to connect to it with the Web3 browser.

- In Exodus Mobile, a) tap the Profile icon, then b) tap Web3.

- From here, you can a) search by typing in the search bar or b) browse the list of Web3 apps. c) Tap the Web3 app you want to connect to.
- If the Web3 app you’re connecting to supports auto-connect, you’ll be connected automatically. If the Web3 app doesn’t support auto-connect, continue to step 3.

- If the Web3 app doesn’t support auto-connect, it will open in a new in-app window. If you can't see a Connect button, tap the menu icon.

- Next, tap Connect or Connect wallet.

- You should now be prompted to select a wallet to connect with. Select Exodus when available. If Exodus isn't on the list, select Metamask, Brave, or Browser wallet / Wallet browser. For more details, see: Which connection method or wallet should I select?

- Some Web3 apps require a wallet signature request to prove you own the wallet you are connecting. This will not incur a network fee. If you receive a signature request, a) review the details, then b) tap Approve.

Which connection method or wallet should I select?
To connect to a dApp or Web3 app with the Web3 browser, you will need to select a connection method.
If Exodus is available, choose Exodus.
If Exodus isn't on the list of connection methods, the Web3 browser will allow you to connect by selecting another option, depending on the network.
If you are trying to connect to a Web3 app on Ethereum, Arbitrum Nova, Arbitrum One, Avalanche C-Chain, BNB Smart Chain, Fantom, Optimism, or Polygon, you can select one of the following options:
- Metamask
- Brave
- Browser wallet / Wallet browser
If you are trying to connect to a Web3 app on Solana, you can select one of the following options:
- Phantom
- Browser wallet / Wallet browser
Why am I seeing an update warning?
To use the Web3 browser in Exodus Mobile, it's necessary to keep your phone's operating system updated.
If you visit a dApp or Web3 app while using an outdated operating system, you'll receive a warning. To continue browsing securely, you can follow the steps to update.
Android
On Android, open Settings and tap System, then tap System Update. Once updated, return to Exodus Mobile to continue browsing securely.
iOS
On iOS, open Settings and tap General, then tap Software Update. Once updated, return to Exodus Mobile to continue browsing securely.
How do I disconnect from a dApp or Web3 app?
This guide shows how to disconnect from OpenSea, but the steps are similar for other Web3 apps. If you need any assistance, please reach out to Exodus Support.
Currently, you can only disconnect from an individual dApp or Web3 app from within the app's interface.

- Open the Web3 app you wish to disconnect from in your Web3 browser. If you can't see a wallet button or icon, tap the menu icon.

- To disconnect, a) tap My wallet or Wallet, then tap b) Log out or Disconnect.

How do I see my Web3 browser transaction history?
Transactions made with the Web3 browser will show as normal send or receive transactions and can be viewed along with all your other transactions.
Navigate to your Ethereum wallet and scroll down to view your transaction history.
How do I approve a request?
When you use a dApp or Web3 app with the Web3 browser, all transactions and requests must be approved from Exodus Mobile. To approve a request, follow the steps below:

- When you need to approve a request, you'll receive a prompt. In the prompt, you can see details such as the network (chain), fees, and assets.
