In this article:
How does the Ledger integration work in Exodus?
A hardware wallet like Ledger is one of the best ways to keep your crypto safe.
Hardware wallets generate and store your secret recovery phrases and private keys in an offline environment which helps protect your funds from malware and hackers.
For ease of use, you can connect your Ledger Nano X and Ledger Flex hardware wallets to Exodus Mobile. Your Ledger wallet will appear as a portfolio in Exodus.
From your Ledger portfolio in Exodus, you can send, receive, and swap funds on your Ledger.
To interact with your funds in the Ledger portfolio, your Ledger must be connected to your iOS or Android device using an end-to-end encrypted Bluetooth (BLE) connection.
Ledger is only supported on Exodus Mobile; however, if you don't see Ledger as an option, it is not currently available.
Currently, Ledger Nano X and Ledger Flex are the only Ledger devices that are supported.
You can only connect your Ledger to Exodus if it has already been set up with the Ledger Live app. For instructions, visit: How do I set up a new Ledger?
Which Ledger hardware wallets does Exodus support?

Why can't I view my Ledger secret recovery phrase or private keys in Exodus?
Ledger displays your secret recovery phrase only once, when you first set up your Ledger wallet. During this backup process, only your Ledger's secret recovery phrase is shown, not individual private keys.
Once your Ledger wallet is created, your secret recovery phrase is stored offline on the device, and for extra security, it cannot be viewed again.
As a result, Exodus never has access to your Ledger secret recovery phrase and private keys, and it's not possible to view them with Exodus.
This is also why it’s essential to write down your secret recovery phrase during setup and store it securely.
Never keep a digital copy of your secret recovery phrase, and never share it with anyone. For tips on how to keep your secret recovery phrase safe, visit: How do I keep my secret recovery phrase safe?
Exodus never has access to your Ledger private keys and secret recovery phrase.
You can only connect a Ledger to Exodus that's already been set up through the Ledger Live app.
Backing up your Exodus wallet's secret recovery phrase does not back up your Ledger wallet. Your Ledger's secret recovery phrase is different and is only shown when you first set up your Ledger. To learn more, visit Ledger's article: How to keep your 24-word recovery phrase and PIN code safe?
