What should I do with my Monero (XMR) before support ends?

You have until August 10, 2025, to send XMR to another supported wallet or platform or swap your XMR with Exodus.

Updated over a week ago

Exodus ends support for Monero (XMR) on August 10, 2025. After this date, you’ll no longer be able to interact with XMR in Exodus.

Because Exodus is a self-custody wallet, your funds remain in your control. You can always access your Monero with a compatible wallet, such as Cake Wallet.

Until support ends, you can send your XMR from Exodus to another platform or swap it in Exodus.

Exodus ends support for Monero (XMR) on August 10, 2025

On August 10, 2025, Exodus will end support for Monero (XMR) as part of our efforts to streamline product offerings to align with Exodus’s future strategy.

After this date, you will no longer be able to send, receive, or view your XMR balance in Exodus.

You have until August 10, 2025, to either send XMR to another supported wallet or platform or swap it for another asset using Exodus Swap.

You can also use your Monero 25-word mnemonic from Exodus to import your Monero wallet from Exodus into a compatible wallet, such as Cake Wallet, so you can continue to access your XMR after support ends.

If you don't already hold XMR, you will no longer be able to add it to your Exodus wallet.

How do I send my XMR to another wallet or platform?

You can continue to send XMR from Exodus as usual until it's removed on August 10, 2025.

You can send XMR to another wallet, exchange, or platform to ensure you can access your XMR once it's no longer supported in Exodus.

For a general guide on how to send funds from Exodus, visit: How do I send Bitcoin and crypto from Exodus?

Please note that your Exodus Monero wallet must be fully synced in order to send XMR.

If you want to keep your XMR in a self-custody wallet, Cake Wallet is an option that supports Monero. For more information on how to move your XMR to Cake Wallet, see: How do I migrate my Monero (XMR) to Cake Wallet?

Before sending XMR, make sure the destination wallet or platform supports Monero (XMR).

How do I swap my XMR?

Until Exodus ends support for Monero (XMR), you can swap XMR for another asset with Exodus Swap instead of sending it to another platform.

To swap, a) tap/click on the Swap icon. Then, b) select XMR as the asset you want to swap, select the asset you want to receive, and then enter the amount you want to swap.

What happens to my XMR after August 10, 2025?

Once Exodus ends support for Monero (XMR) on August 10, 2025, you will no longer be able to view balances or send and receive XMR using your Exodus wallet.

However, because Exodus is a self-custody wallet, you remain in full control of your assets through your secret recovery phrase and private keys. Therefore, you can import them into a compatible wallet to continue accessing your XMR. For more information, see: What options do I have if I hold assets Exodus no longer supports?

For example, Cake Wallet is a self-custody wallet that is compatible with importing your Monero wallet from Exodus.

For more information on migrating your XMR from Exodus to Cake Wallet, see the sections below.

How do I migrate my Monero (XMR) to Cake Wallet?

Cake Wallet is a multichain, self-custody wallet that supports Monero (XMR) and is available on mobile and desktop devices.

To ensure that you can continue to access your XMR, you can either send it from Exodus or import your Monero wallet from Exodus into Cake Wallet.

The easiest way to migrate your XMR to Cake Wallet is to send it as a regular transaction from Exodus. However, please note your Exodus Monero wallet needs to be fully synced to send XMR:

  1. First, create a new Cake Wallet: How do I create a new Cake Wallet?

  2. Then, send your XMR to Cake Wallet: How do I send XMR from Exodus to Cake Wallet? You’ll be able to send XMR until support ends on August 10, 2025.

If your Monero wallet in Exodus is not fully synced or taking a long time to sync, you can instead import your Monero 25-word mnemonic from Exodus into Cake Wallet:

Cake Wallet is a third-party platform that is not affiliated with Exodus. As such, Exodus cannot guarantee the performance of its products/services or that the steps shown and the information provided will always be accurate.

What if I hold XMR on my Trezor?

When Exodus ends support for XMR, it will not affect the XMR stored in your Trezor.

While you won’t be able to access your XMR through Exodus after support ends, you can still access it by connecting your Trezor to a compatible wallet that supports both Monero and Trezor.

For information on how to connect your Trezor to a compatible Monero wallet and access your XMR, visit Trezor's Monero guide: Monero (XMR) on Trezor Safe 5, Trezor Safe 3 and Trezor Model T.
