You can delete your Exodus wallet to start over and create a new one with a new 12-word secret key. If you no longer wish to use Exodus, deleting the wallet ensures that its data is removed from your device.
Warning: Deleting your wallet will permanently remove it from your device. If you delete your wallet without storing its secret key, you will lose access to its funds.
To prevent this, ensure you have backed up your wallet. If you delete your wallet, you do so at your own risk.

What happens when I delete my wallet?
Deleting your Exodus wallet removes any wallet data stored locally on your device. It does not remove any funds from the blockchain or affect any other devices that use the same wallet.
After deleting a wallet from your device, your addresses and remaining funds still exist on the blockchain. As long as you have the wallet's 12-word secret key, you can always restore access.
Deleting wallet data will only remove it from your device, not uninstall the Exodus app. After deletion, you’ll be able to create a new wallet or uninstall Exodus.
What happens to my wallet data if I uninstall Exodus?
What happens to locally stored wallet data when you uninstall Exodus depends on which version of the app you’re using:
Exodus Mobile and Web3 Wallet: Uninstalling the app will generally permanently delete wallet data stored locally on your device. Always write down your 12-word secret key before uninstalling Exodus.
Exodus Desktop: Wallet data is stored in a separate folder that is generally not removed when you uninstall Exodus. To ensure it is removed, you have to manually delete the data folder. Please note that the data folder should never be used as a backup. On iOS, your Exodus app's iCloud backup might contain your secret key. If someone gets access to your device, they could use it to access your iCloud backup and get access to your Exodus wallet and funds. To avoid this, make sure you have written down your secret key, then delete old Exodus app iCloud backups by following Apple's guide: Manage your iCloud storage.
If you've stored your secret key in iCloud, your backup file and passkey are stored in your iCloud account. Don't delete your backup file or passkey, or you won't be able to restore your wallet. Only delete old and unused Exodus iCloud backups.
Why would I want to delete my wallet?
There are several reasons why you might delete a wallet. Here are some of the most common:
You want a new Exodus wallet with a new 12-word secret key: After deleting your wallet, you can create an empty wallet with a different secret key.
Switching to a new device: After restoring or moving all your funds to your new device, you can delete all wallet data from your old device. Please ensure you can access your wallet on your new device before deleting it from your old one.
You no longer wish to use Exodus: If you no longer want to use Exodus, you can delete wallet data stored locally on your device before uninstalling the app.
Your wallet is compromised: If your Exodus wallet has been compromised, do not continue using it. Move all your funds to a new, secure wallet immediately. Once your funds are safe, delete your compromised wallet and create a new one with a new secret key.

You can restore Exodus in a temporary wallet or send funds to another wallet or platform. After deleting and creating a new wallet, you can use this temporary wallet to send the funds to your new wallet. Here are some ways to do this:
Restore your old wallet on a second device: If you have a second mobile or desktop device, you can download Exodus and restore your old wallet on the second device. You can then receive your funds in your new Exodus wallet.
Restore your old wallet in a different user account (desktop only): Each user account on the same desktop device has a separate Exodus wallet. With a desktop device, you can create a new user account and restore your old wallet. You can then receive your funds in your new Exodus wallet.
Send the funds to a third-party wallet or platform: If the options above are not available, you can send your funds to a third-party wallet or a custodial exchange. Before sending, ensure the platform supports all your funds and the networks they're on. You can then receive your funds in your new Exodus wallet.
