Everything you need to know about how to close and lock the Exodus app.
Need a crypto wallet that gives you full control of your assets? You can download Exodus here.
In this article:
Why can't I log out of Exodus?
Because Exodus is a self-custody wallet, the 12-word secret key, which is encrypted and stored on the device where you install Exodus, gives you access and makes your Exodus wallet uniquely yours.
This means that unlike an exchange account or web-hosted service where you access your account with an email and password, in Exodus, because your wallet is managed with your secret key, there is no traditional account from which to log out.
Although there is no logout option in Exodus, you can protect your Exodus wallet with a password, passcode, or device lock so your wallet locks when you close it.
When your wallet is locked, if someone gets access to your device, they will not be able to access your wallet or view the secret key without the password, passcode, or device lock.
