What is the Fantom (FTM) to Sonic (S) migration?
The Fantom Foundation announced they plan to migrate the Fantom (FTM) token to the new Sonic (S) on the new Sonic network.
The migration is scheduled for the last quarter of 2024, but the exact date has yet to be announced.
When the Sonic network goes live, Fantom (FTM) holders will be able to migrate to the Sonic (S) token using a bridge. For the first six months of the Sonic launch, you will be able to swap Fantom (FTM) to Sonic (S) at a 1:1 rate.
There is no set deadline for when FTM holders need to migrate to the Sonic (S) token, as Fantom's Opera network and the FTM token will continue to operate normally for the foreseeable future.

What if I hold Fantom (FTM) in Exodus?
If you hold Fantom (FTM) in Exodus, you can still hold and transact FTM like normal, even after the migration.
This is because the Fantom Foundation announced that the FTM token will continue to be supported and be fully operational for the foreseeable future.
When the new Sonic (S) token is launched, if you want to migrate your FTM tokens, you might need to send FTM to a wallet that supports the migration and the new Sonic (S) token.
Further information on the migration will be available with the launch.
