How do I export my transaction history?

How do I export my transaction history?

Exporting your wallet's transaction history can be useful for a number of different reasons. Whether you are auditing your balance, preparing for taxes, or doing general bookkeeping, exporting your transaction history can make it easier.

This guide will go over how to export your entire transaction history or the transaction history for individual assets in Exodus.


Mobile

If you are on an older version of Android, you may need to update your Exodus app permissions to export your transaction history.

  1. In Exodus Mobile, a) tap the Wallet icon, then b) tap the Portfolio icon and select the portfolio you want to export the transaction history for. If you don't have multiple portfolios, skip to step 2.

  2. Next, tap on the History icon in the top right corner.

  3. To filter your transactions, tap the All types dropdown menu. You can choose one of four options:

    • All Types: Exports all sent, received, and swap transactions

    • Sent: Exports all sent transactions

    • Received: Exports all the transactions received in your wallet

    • Swapped: Exports all swap transactions

  4. If you want to export your transaction history for all assets, keep All assets selected.

    If you want to export the transaction history for a specific asset, tap the All assets dropdown menu, then select the asset.

  5. Tap the download icon in the top right corner.

  6. Tap Open File to view or download the CSV file containing your exported transaction history.

The timestamps for your transactions in the exported CSV file are shown in Coordinated Universal Time (UTC). They are calculated by converting your device’s local time into UTC at the moment of export.

How do I export my Desktop transaction history?

  1. In Exodus Desktop, a) click the History icon, then b) select the portfolio you want to export the transaction history for. If you don't have multiple portfolios, skip to step 2.

  2. If you want to export your transaction history for all assets, a) keep All Assets selected.

    If you want to export the transaction history for a specific asset, a) click the All Assets dropdown menu, then b) select the asset.

  3. To export your transaction history, click on the menu and choose one of the four options:

    • Export All Transactions: Exports all sent, received, and swap transactions

    • Export Sent: Exports all sent transactions

    • Export Received: Exports all received transactions

    • Export Swapped: Exports all swap transactions

  4. Alternatively, to export a single asset's transaction history from the asset's wallet, a) click on the menu in the top right corner, then b) click Export Transactions.

  5. a) You will now see the file path where the exported CSV file containing your wallet's transaction history is located. b) Click OK to exit.

  6. The CSV containing your transaction history is exported to a folder named "exodus-exports" on your desktop. Double-click the folder to open it.

  7. Double-click the CSV file inside the folder to open your transaction history.

The timestamps for your transactions in the exported CSV file are shown in Coordinated Universal Time (UTC). They are calculated by converting your device’s local time into UTC at the moment of export.


Web3 Wallet

If you sync an existing wallet to Web3 Wallet and export your transaction history from Web3 Wallet, only the transaction history of assets on supported networks is exported.

  1. In Exodus Web3 Wallet, a) click the Wallet icon, then b) click the Portfolio icon, and select the portfolio you want to export the transaction history for. If you don't have multiple portfolios, skip to step 2.

  2. a) Tap the Profile icon, then b) tap History.

  3. Tap the All dropdown menu to filter which transactions to export. You can choose one of six options:

    • All: Exports all sent, received, and swap transactions

    • Sent: Exports all sent transactions

    • Received: Exports all the transactions received into your wallet

    • Swap: Exports all swap transactions

    • NFTs: Exports all NFT transactions

    • Other: Export all transactions that don't fall under the above categories

  4. To export transaction history for a specific asset, tap the All Assets dropdown menu, then select the asset.

  5. Tap the download icon in the top right corner to download your transaction history as a CSV file.

The timestamps for your transactions in the exported CSV file are shown in Coordinated Universal Time (UTC). They are calculated by converting your device’s local time into UTC at the moment of export.


Why does Exodus ask for storage permission?

On some older Android devices, you will need to allow storage permission for Exodus before you can export your transaction history. This is because, on some older versions of Android, Exodus can't store information on your device, such as your exported transaction history, without permission.

If you use an Android device, when you export your transaction history for the first time, you might see a prompt asking you to allow storage permission. To allow storage permission for Exodus, tap Allow.

Allowing storage permission does not allow Exodus to view or alter your existing Android files. It only allows Exodus to store information on your device, such as your exported transaction history.

If you have accidentally denied the prompt asking you to allow storage permission, or if the storage permission for Exodus is disabled on your device, you will see the error, Storage permission denied.

If you see this error, you will need to allow storage permission for Exodus on your device. You can follow Google's guide on how to allow Android permissions: Change app permissions on your Android phone.

Why are some of my assets missing?

Some networks in Exodus have light support rather than full support. Assets running on networks with light support might not appear in your exported transaction history.

Additionally, assets that are no longer supported by Exodus will not appear in the exported transactions history. For information on how to view the transaction history for these assets, visit: How do I view my transaction history for removed assets?

Networks with light support

For networks with light support in Exodus, only send transactions will be displayed. However, your balance will be accurately reflected.

To view the full transaction history of assets on these networks, you can look up your address on the network's block explorer. Block explorers will provide you with all the information you need. They will also have the option to export your transaction history as a CSV file.
