What is the Flare Network?
Flare is a layer-1 blockchain that launched in July 2022. It began by airdropping 15% of Flaire (FLR) tokens to eligible XRP holders.
The remaining 85% of FLR tokens are being distributed over time to users who hold Wrapped Flare (WFLR). To learn more, see the section below: How will the remaining FLR tokens be distributed?
You can check out the official Flare network blog to stay up-to-date with the Flare network.
What is the difference between the Flare Network snapshot and the initial Flare airdrop?
The Flare Network snapshot took place at 0:00 UTC on December 12, 2020, capturing the XRP balances of all XRP addresses. This snapshot determined eligibility for the FLR airdrop.
To qualify, users had to register their XRP address before June 12, 2021.
The initial FLR airdrop occurred on January 9, 2023, at 23:59 UTC, when 15% of the total FLR tokens were distributed to eligible users based on their XRP balance at the time of the snapshot.
How did Exodus handle the Flare airdrop?
If you held XRP in your Exodus wallet during the Flare snapshot and registered your XRP address before June 12, 2021, you were eligible for the Flare (FLR) airdrop
Exodus didn't support FLR at the time of the airdrop. To ensure users could still access their tokens, Exodus provided a Flare airdrop private key, which could be used in a supported wallet to claim FLR.
Now that Exodus supports FLR, your FLR wallet in Exodus has its own private key. This key is different from the Flare airdrop private key. Your standard wallet private key will not access the FLR airdrop funds unless they were manually imported or moved.
How do I tell if my XRP address was registered?
Bithomp.com is a third-party platform that is not affiliated with Exodus. As such, Exodus cannot guarantee the performance of its products/services or that the steps shown and the information provided will always be accurate.
First, go to Bithomp.com and search for your XRP address.
In a) Account Information, b) you can view your Flare and Songbird address and the number of Flare and Songbird tokens you are eligible for if your XRP address was eligible and registered.

Can I still register my XRP address?
No. Registration for the Flare airdrop closed at 0:00 UTC on June 12, 2021. The Flare Network set this deadline, and it is no longer open.
How do I view my Flare airdrop private key?

Please be very careful with your 12-word secret recovery phrase and private keys, because they control access to your funds. Never share them with anyone, and only import them into platforms that you trust 100%. If you choose to import your secret recovery phrase or private keys into a third-party platform, you do so at your own risk. In your Flare wallet, a) click the menu in the upper right-hand corner of your wallet, and b) click Move Funds.
a) Paste your Flare airdrop private key in the FLR private key field, then b) click Move Funds. This will move your airdropped FLR from your Flare airdrop address to your Exodus Flare address. Because this creates a transaction, it will incur a transaction fee.
After pasting the private key, make sure to clear your clipboard data. To learn more, visit: How do I clear my clipboard data?
And that's it! This will move the funds from your Flare airdrop address to your Exodus Flare address.
How will the remaining FLR tokens be distributed?
When Flare launched, 15% of the total FLR supply was airdropped to eligible users who registered their XRP address. The remaining 85% is being distributed over time to people who hold Wrapped Flare (WFLR).
These remaining tokens are released in 36 monthly distributions, with a new round every 30 days.
The first distribution was on March 17, 2023.
The final distribution is scheduled for January 30, 2026.
You can see the full schedule here: FlareDrop guide.
To be eligible, you must wrap your FLR into WFLR. For help with this, see the section below: How do I wrap my Flare (FLR) tokens?
